Notes: Kyle Kirkwood Has New Look This Weekend in Iowa
5 DAYS AGO
Kyle Kirkwood will drive in the Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend this weekend at Iowa Speedway with a new livery featuring the sponsor of the event and the presenting sponsor of both races.
Kirkwood will drive the No. 27 Sukup Honda for Andretti Global as he aims for his fourth victory of the season in the Synk 275 powered by Sukup at 5 p.m. ET Saturday, July 12 and the Farm to Finish 275 powered by Sukup at 1 p.m. ET Sunday, July 13. Both races will be broadcast on FOX, the FOX Sports app and the INDYCAR Radio Network.
With over six decades at the forefront of agricultural advancement, Sukup proudly produces American-made products that support rural communities and champion sustainable solutions, values that align with Andretti’s commitment to pushing the limits of technology both on and off the track.
“I’m thrilled to have Sukup on board as my primary partner this weekend in Iowa,” Kirkwood said. “As the title sponsor of the race, they’ve already shown tremendous support for INDYCAR, so carrying their name on the No. 27 Sukup Honda means a lot to me. I got my first oval win in St. Louis last month, and with two chances this weekend, I’m hoping we can take Sukup to Victory Lane here in Iowa.”
Kirkwood isn’t the only Andretti Global driver debuting a livery this weekend. Marcus Ericsson will return to Delaware Life colors in his No. 28 Honda for the first time this season at Iowa. Ericsson, who raced in Delaware Life colors during the 2024 season, also will sport the livery at Toronto, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Portland International Raceway.
Delaware Life is an annuity company that empowers financial professionals with a wide array of customizable solutions. It is a Group 1001 company, as is Gainbridge, the primary sponsor of the No. 26 Honda of Andretti Global standout Colton Herta.
Iowa Speedway Partnering with Iowa, Iowa State NIL Collectives
The Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend is partnering with “We Will” – Iowa State’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective, and “The Swarm Collective” – which supports University of Iowa athletes – to feature some of the state’s top collegiate sports stars during the NTT INDYCAR SERIES doubleheader this weekend.
The unique partnership also will provide fans a special discount ticket offer to this weekend’s Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend, while contributing to the collectives of the state’s top public universities.
Student athletes from both Iowa State and Iowa will be featured on both Saturday and Sunday during Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend, and fans of both schools will be able to meet and engage with stars representing sports programs from each university at Iowa Speedway. Iowa State basketball standout Joshua Jefferson will serve as the grand marshal of the Synk 275 powered by Sukup on Saturday, while former Iowa All-America linebacker Jay Higgins will perform the same role for the Farm to Finish 275 powered by Sukup on Sunday.
Fans can show their school pride and support their favorite athletes through exclusive ticket offers.
